Pet Friendly Self Catering Accommodation in the Lakes

As a dog owner I've searched for hours for pet friendly self-catering accommodation that does not resemble a kennel!  Now don't get me wrong I do not own a pampered pooch - my boy isn't allowed on the furniture and human food has never passed his lips, but we do want a little luxury when on holiday.
The self-catering accommodation in this country has improved greatly, we all have higher expectations and the industry has uped it's game to offer what we are looking for.
The Lake District is the perfect spot for a family holiday.  At Windermere Marina Village the pet friendly Lake District cottages are the same high standard as those reserved for guests that don't have a four legged friendy in tow.   Makes a refreshing change that you don't get offered the rather shabby poor relation!
Being in the Lakes there are loads of walks on your doorstep and nearly as many pet friendly watering holes for well deserved refreshments at the end of an exhausting day.  Check it out I'm sure you'll be impressed!

Lake District Summer Deals

It's not often you will find late deals available in the Lake District at this time of year.  While I'm enjoying the Olympics personally it has meant visitor numbers throughout Cumbria are down this year. Only to be expected I guess.
Lake district self catering holidays at Windermere Marina Village
For those still wanting to visit the Lake District this will prove to be a fantastic year to come.  Less people not only means avoiding the usual summer crowds but there are many deals to be had on the fabulous attractions and Lake District self-catering holidays.
My latest favourite deal is at Windermere Marina Village: the fantastic contemporary self-catering apartments have an amazing 15% off - unheard of in the summer!  So grab yourself a bargin - for more details visit the Lake District Late Deals page.

Olympic Torch on Windermere Lake

Day 34 of the torch relay saw the Olympic flame take the steam boat journey enjoyed by thousands of Lake District visitors on Windermere, Englands largest lake.
Boat owners braved the weather to accompany the Olympic Torch as it made it's way down Windermere as part of it's historic journey through Great Britain.  A two hour respite in the rain allowed the Torch and onlookers to travel to Waterhead unsodden.

The Windermere Marina Village team took a well deserved break from the preparation for a busy summer season and joined the escorting vessels.  Enjoyed by all!

Lake District February Half Term

We've just reduce our prices by 20% for this February half term!
February half term is a great time to visit the Lake District with the family.  You will benefit from some great deals on accommodation like our 20% offer on Lake District cottages.
With less people about than in the summer you can enjoy a slower pace of life for a few days.  Wrap up and follow one of the lowland trails that offer amazing views then warm yourself by an open fire in one of the many lakeland taverns.  See you soon.
